The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a contract with wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey, according to their official twitter account.

Heyward-Bey, a former seventh overall pick of the Oakland Raiders out of the University of Maryland in 2009, hasn’t really lived up to that status since coming into the league. He’s accumulated 169 receptions for 2,380 yards and 12 touchdowns with the Raiders and Colts over that span. He hauled in only 29 catches for 309 yards and a score with the Colts a year ago.

The Steelers lost wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to the Denver Broncos and Jerricho Cotchery to the Carolina Panthers in free-agency. They also brought in former New Orleans Saints receiver Lance Moore. So Heyward-Bey is more a depth signing for the upcoming season.
