With the NFL draft starting a mere week from today, the Atlanta Falcons draft obsessed community is buzzing with rumors. Who will the Falcons select with the 31st pick? The team has a few holes to fill, including the right guard position that was vacated with Chris Chester’s retirement. However, with Ben Garland a solid option to take over the right guard role, the Atlanta Falcons look to draft a versatile pass rusher, fulfilling another priority need on the defensive front.
During his 2016 breakout season, Vic Beasley Jr. had 19.5 sacks. He accounted for half of the Falcons season total. If the Falcons want to bring pressure from both sides of the ball and eliminate opposing team’s double-team option, they’ll need to pull in a quality pass rusher.
Even with a late-round first pick, the Falcons are likely to have some quality options on the board.
